Green Events

Guidelines for a green event state it should be organised electronically, minimise carbon emissions for travelling delegates and speakers, save energy, recycle and adopt environmentally thoughtful measures wherever possible.

Green venues should be interested in being green and sustainable, have an in-house environmental policy, good public transport links, naturally lit meeting spaces, offer in house technical support, use seasonal locally sourced produce, consider organic produce and offer fair trade tea and coffee. They should recycle paper, cardboard and waste and provide recycling facilities for their guests.

We are working closely with UK venues on these issues and our aim is to raise the awareness of these sustainable responsibilities.
